We genuinely care about our community. We understand that some of our most impactful ministry takes place beyond the walls of our building. We invite you to explore these opportunities to serve.

Week in and week out we donate food, clothing, and other items to this essential service in Washougal. Every January we hold a food drive to help them restock the shelves after the demands of Christmas.

We recently supplied “seat covers” (underwear), but needs are ongoing. Throughout the year the staff just gives our church a call to let us know what the children need. Our faithful community gets into gear and makes sure the need is met.

Over 2500 children experienced being without a permanent home in Clark County during the 2018-19 school year.  In 2019, over 400 families with children sought emergency shelter in our community. With rising costs of rent and the lack of affordable housing in the area, this number continues to grow. Family Promise works with faith communities in Clark County to provide stable housing and support services in a way that allows families the breathing room they need to find jobs, keep their children in the same schools, and save for a long-term housing solution. Our church serves for one week, four times a year. We partner with another church to provide dinners & breakfasts, evening companionship, and overnight shelter. For more information about how this works and how you can help, contact the church office.
In the video, Cleta Gilman describes how this vital international ministry provides girls around the world with hand made pretty dresses, hair ribbons, dolls, and even protection against human trafficking! One dedicated group sews dresses and everyone in the church contributes something to this annual ministry done during Lent. The church donates anywhere from 200 – 400 dresses each year to girls around the world.

This ministry serves people within our church and beyond our walls. The faithful ladies meet at the church on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month to create quilts to lift the spirits of those who need to know they are loved. Quilts are donated to area hospitals, going to everyone from adults to newborns.
You don’t need to be able to sew to be a part of this ministry. The group always needs people to cut material, organize items, and keep them company. The time always includes a brown bag lunch and a time to pray over the work.
Want to learn this ancient art? Then you’ll be delighted to know that the more experienced quilters will be happy to teach you! Whatever your skill level, if you would like to be a part of this ministry of Christ’s grace, you are welcome to join us.
WE ARE NOW MEETING ON MONDAYS – We are making quilts and also several items for the 2021 Christmas Bazaar, such as adorable snowmen. EVERYONE is welcome to join in a creative and safe environment.
